Submersible

DUDE.

This situation is GRIPPING.

It's incredibly sad, but mannnnn. I've been following it like a crazy person, watching anyone who will post a video about it. Just to hear all the angles.

But this freaking submersible imploded and all 5 crew members parished.

And the paying customers paid $250,000 for their final journey.

To see the Titanic.

Through a 21 inch tiny window in a tin can.

Ok, sorry, aluminum and carbon fiber.

Manuevered with a Logitech game controller.

No bathroom.

The hope is that the pressure was just so crazy that it imploded and they died in milliseconds.

Fascinating.

Going down 13,000ft, which is deeper than anything ever. Which is just insane.

And you're bolted in from the OUTSIDE.

With 17 teeny, tiny 3/8 bolts.

Like, wut?

So even if the surfaced on their own, they wouldn't have been able to get out. And the clock was just ticking with how much O2 they had left. Which of course, was just an estimate because this hadn't actually been done before (5 men being trapped and needing the emergency O2 supply).

That is just insane to me.

I know people love adventure and these types of expeditions are a thing. But I'd think they'd want it to be like suuuuuper buttoned up. We know way less of the deep ocean than we do of space.

So yeah, I'll go up in a rocket first before going down into the middle of the earth.

Sam Miller

What the actual fuck is happening here?

Have you heard or read about Sam and Aric

Newlyweds.

A beautiful young couple, celebrating spending the rest of their lives together.

And for Sam, that was true.

Just hours after saying their vows, Sam was killed when a drunk driver slammed into the back of the golf cart she was riding in.

A drunk driver.

A 25 year old woman.

Driving 65mph down a 25mph road.

Drunk as a skunk.

Makes me SICK.

How can shit like this continue to happen?

You know, I've read people commenting "this is why golf carts should be illegal" - um, what?

Drinking and driving is illegal and that didn't stop this person from ruining lives forever.

The golf cart was street legal (from what I've read) and I know it's common (especially in the south, where this happened) to drive golf carts around certain communities.

They were heading back to their bed and breakfast around 10pm after their wedding with their friends and family.

And that's it. Sam died and Aric is in the hospital fighting for his life. His brother was driving (I think it was Aric's brother who was driving) and he's injured as well.

Two families are now destroyed. Because of the behavior and choices of one person.

25. Old enough to know better.

25. Her social media shows an abundance of drinking partying behavior.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely partied. I made some questionable decisions. I'm so fucking grateful my choices didn't hurt anyone.

But I feel like now? UBER. LYFT. Someone?

Did her friends let her drive?

So many questions.

I just hope that I am doing a decent enough job with my kids that they'll know to just call someone. Or not get in a car with someone.

Sam may have been taught the right thing. But it didn't matter.

She didn't do anything wrong.

And she's dead now.

Because of a drunk driver.
