July 7th - Alexandria Bay - Day 4

We woke up to another beautiful day.

I have to say this is probably the one time we had amazing weather for the entirety of our trip. We usually experience one or more rainy days. One year (the year of The Island) it basically rained the entire time.

But, it was time to clean up, pack up and head out.

Once we were out of the townhouse, we had to head to Keeywadin State Park to pick up boats and Jetskis and get them trailered and ready for the ride home.

One tradition everyone loves is stopping by the Go Carts and Arcade on the way home.

No pics of Go Carting as we were all driving! I forgot how fun those little cars are. Me and Mila were racing hard lol.

Here's to next year! I think they are already starting to look at dates and availability since July 4th weekend is ALWAYS so busy.

Core memories made. 💖

Till next time, Alex Bay.

End of School and Awards!

I can't believe I have a middle schooler and 3rd grader.

It's really crazy how time flies once they are in school.

We've been so busy with end of year activities, park days, award ceremonies, performances, etc.

Mila got an Academic Achievement Award and we were invited to go (secretly). We are so proud.

She got two other awards: Extra Award and Safety Patrol Award. So proud!

Can't forget about little Ava. She got an Artist Award and we're so happy for her! She also had an amazing year and really learned a lot. Her writing skills, comprehension, etc. She works really hard and is super bright. I'm so glad she does not struggle in school (yet). She does really well and seems to enjoy it.

So cute these little second graders.

My BABY. Ugh. I'm so proud of the little person she is and is becoming. But WAHHHH. My BABY.

Middle school here she comes! She's such a lovely young lady and is the sweetest thing. I feel like this next year is going to be pretty big for her. I hit my adult height at age 12...so...ugh.

Mila also had her end of year picnic and this was extra special since it's her last year in elementary school.

I'm grateful for the friends she's made and am excited to see what next year brings.

It was a gorgeous morning to be at the park. The 5th graders walked over from the elementary school.

Mila's been BFFs with a set of twins since first grade.

Moving up and on.

I wanted to make the last day of school special in some way.

It's tough because both Steve and I have to work and with my new job, it's just really hard to juggle them when they are home. To be honest, I don't juggle, I just end up ignoring them and I feel terrible about that. It's not fair.

They had a half day on their last day so they did have to entertain themselves for a few hours in the afternoon.

But I got them off the bus and did a happy dance.

Special treat on the way to Popo's house!

Because of my work schedule and having a very busy Friday, they chose to spend a couple of nights with my mom. We have a summer party Saturday, so I'll pick them up on the way up north.

I really, really want to have a good summer. I am trying to go day by day and put one foot in front of the other.

Things are good for now and I'm hopeful for the future. But for now, I'm excited to spend this summer with my girls.

1000 Islands Vacation Day 4 - Leaving, But First! Go Karts and Arcade!

We woke up to a dreary and cloudy day. We knew rain was coming.

And just like any "last day", as soon as we got up, we got to packing up all our shit.

We also did promise the kiddos we'd make it to the go kart place and arcade on the way home, since it was on the way.

We made it in time to do a few laps before it started to DOWNPOUR!

We stopped at a diner for a late breakfast before getting on the road.

And that's it!

It was pretty perfect.

And I'm so glad I got the chance to have a perfect vacation.

1000 Islands Vacation Day 2: Friday at Eel Bay

I woke up at 6:30am Friday morning.

It was beautiful already.

I didn't want to waste any time.

The kids, passed out. I couldn't find Little Richard though.

I got my coffee, my pen and went and sat out on the balcony. It was sunny and gorgeous out.

Nothing like the quiet when everyone else is sleeping. My one friend, Andy was up. He owns a landscaping company, so he was up at like 3:30 lol.

The boys were up a bit later and got the mini boat out for some fun.

One of my favorite parts of the trip are these huge ships that go by.

We changed up a bit who was on whose boat. This is when I'm like "we need a bigger boat" because with the cooler filled with drinks and such, we really can only have 6-7 people on board. Our little 19' handled the river great despite its size though. Very proud of our little boat. It never gave us any issues this year.

A fun perspective because I'm always ON the boat!

My BFF's wife, Trista, who has become one of my BFFs.

Rich and his boy.

Eel Bay had a fun beach area for the kids. Which worked out great since we forgot the Lily Pad.

Literally my favorite thing in the world.

Lunch!

Rich and his boat grill 😂

Mila tanning. Living her best life.

After several hours of amazing boating, we headed back and went grocery shopping. We decided to grill burgers and whatnot for dinner.

lol my friends are stupid.

A lot of fishing before and after dinner

Little Richard!

Andy's parents came up on their boat and hung out for a bit. It's so nice catching up with them. I've known Andy since I was 10.

Daddy and his girls 💕

Everyone walking into town for some shopping

After a bit of shopping, we all headed back and the adults enjoyed some fun while the kids enjoyed the downstairs watching a movie and/or tablets.

Andy AKA "Dad" lol. Sleeping.

You know this one was a winner.

Not a flattering pic, but it's like the only one I got of them during the game. #mytwoboys

This game is ridiculous and hilarious.

We made so many memories this night.

We enjoyed every second of this day.

One more full day!
