And, only in Rochester, will the weather go up to the 50's 3 days after it was NEGATIVE 30.
Cue the disgusting, sloppy, muddy mess that is my backyard.
ANYWAY, when it snows and is super cold, the chickens stay in their run. They don't seem to like the snow all that much and there's a lot - so they can't effectively walk on it either.
Since yesterday was sunny and 50, I mucked out there with my muck boots on (sooooo much mud!) and shoveled them a path. The snow was wet, heavy, and perfect for making snowmen and snowballs. I was sweating my ass off by the end of it. But, they loved it!
(apologies on the crappy cell phone pics, I was having some issues standing on the fence and holding my phone one-handed).
And here are some of my friends enjoying the weather finally!
Abu - I think he's a Rhode Island Red
New Jersey Giant - he's a big rooster!
my girl, Hei-Hei
