I can hardly believe it. I feel like I'm still waiting for Summer to start!
Time is so fleeting, it's truly unbelievable.
They were right when they said:
"once you put them on the bus, it's over" LOL
I can't believe that in 3 short weeks, Mila will be starting second grade!
Ava will be in UPK and going to school (at the BIG school) 5 days a week!
I'm going to really try to enjoy these last few weeks.
Steve's off for the next week so things will just naturally be more relaxed.
No more making lunches.
No more early wake ups for the girls.
No rushing out the door.
I can get up, get myself ready and just get out the door.
Then my mom arrives! She's actually arriving on Steve's last day of "heaven week".
And she's staying for just about 2 weeks. So for the next 3 weeks, and the LAST 3 weeks of summer, my girls will get to be home, relax and just be. With daddy and popo (and Aunt Jennifer and Great Aunt Lili who is also planning a visit!)
There will be late mornings.
There will be night swimming.
There will be a more lax bed time.
There will be less structure and more flexibility.
On that note...I'm supposed to be off on PTO for 1 week while my mom is here. But, with the way work is right now, I just don't see a lot of that happening. I'm lucky in that I plan to work from home most of those days, but it just sucks that I'll be working when my mom is in town.
She only comes into town once a year.
We haven't seen her since last July.
We miss her.
So, I'm just crossing my fingers that it won't be as awful as I'm predicting it will be.
We happened to win a few pieces of business lately and I'm currently the lead on all of them. Plus the clients I had before all of this! I recently hired 4 (FOUR!) new people to support me. Insane!
So while I'm trying to enjoy these last few weeks of summer...I'm not entirely sure it'll happen.
Some good news is that our patio furniture arrived! I'm not going to share pictures until it's been set up. It may not be as "cute" as I'd like it to be because I'm taking advantage of some end of the summer sales. For instance, the huge 11 foot umbrella we bought, we got in a sandy color because that's the one that is on sale. The other colors? Jump $200! So nope!
Our couch itself is also a white-ish color. It did come with red pillows, so at least my accent color is chosen for me already.
I plan to "dress it up" by getting additional pillows, a cute indoor/outdoor rug and some other accessories.
Pictures to come! (If you follow me on IG, you'll see in my story that Steve just couldn't wait and started unboxing everything at midnight last night!)
