Meeting Carl!

Our friends over at Schimpf Farms had a baby goat! 

Meet Carl! He was born on March 6. We got to visit with him on March 15. So he was only 9 days old! OMG!!! I'm in LOVE! 

Can you tell I'm excited? 

Ava loved holding him. I had to remind her to "be gentle"

The kids! Minus Frank. I remember when they were all babies :( 

These kids have been hanging out since they were born. I've known their dad, Rich for the last 15 or so years and he walked my mom down the aisle at our wedding, so, they are really food friends of ours.

The girls and I had today off - Superintendent's Day for them, so no school and no daycare. It was supposed to be decent out today - 50's so I took that opportunity to ask my friend Trista if we could pop over to visit and meet their new baby goat! The weather has been absolute shit lately and it was nice to finally get a break. 

It WAS about 50 degrees, but man, the WIND! That shit was fierce. The girls had their winter coats (thank goodness I thought to bring them) and I was wearing just a hoodie and if I wasn't in the barn, near the wood stove, I was FREEZING. 

Anyway, they had 4 adult goats and now they have Carl! He's 9 days old and the cutest thing. Jumping all over the place. He has the softest fur. Super cute personality. I could barely stand it. 

The girls really loved him too! Ava couldn't keep her hands off him, and we had to remind her a lot to be nice and gentle. 

And that he's a living, breathing creature. 

The girls enjoyed playing outside today - before we went to our friends, the girls spent about an hour outside by themselves (I periodically checked in with them) and then spent a majority of the afternoon outside, too. 

Mila loved watching Kenny ride his dirt bike (that kid is a natural!)

It feels SO GOOD to get outside. 

The fresh air is good for our souls.

And now I want a goat.
