#BoatLifeIsTheBestLife

We got some amazing weather this past weekend. Luckily it was a Sunday so we got to enjoy the day as a family.

It was legit HOT out. Like, sweaty hot and it was amazing.

Everything is easier when it's not shitty out.

I used this opportunity to try to get the gross ring of grime off the bottom of the boat. It's likely it's never been truly cleaned.

I didn't want to move the boat, so I had to be quick, or the solution would dry too quickly to actually penetrate.

Steve pressure washed it first to get the first layer of grime off and then I went to work.

It didn't seem to work even letting it sit. I got a scrub brush out in case it would help.

We took a break after getting a bit frustrated, but then when we went back to look, it did appear to be less grimy on the one side we treated.

Getting some sun on these legs.

Then there's this stud 😍

We are having some late Spring FREEZING weather and it's finally starting to warm up. Verrrryyyy slowly.

We are in the 50's.

Maybe we'll get a day in the 70's next week. We'll see how it goes.

But, here's to the countdown to get the boat in the water!

WHY Does This Always Happen To Him?

Steve has the worst luck.

Or, maybe it's that he makes bad decisions and it causes headaches.

Now, I'm not talking about BIG bad decisions.

Just little ones.

Little ones that are super inconvenient.

Running out of gas?

Happens all the time.

One time, his mom asked him to get her food from McD's.

He drove there in the rain (with Shelby, his Rottie in the car) and ran out of gas.

Mind you, McD's is like a mile from his mom's house. So, not far.

He runs out of gas on the side of the road.

Needs to walk.

Shelby has no collar or leash.

He uses his belt.

Walks in the rain, with the McD's, and his dog.

Rain causes the McD bag to fail and break through the bottom.

So he needs to finish walking home, no McD's and a soaking wet dog.

And his car is still on the side of the road with no gas.

And he's fine about it.

Like WHAT?

I'd likely just drive off a bridge at that point and call it a day.

Working Out - 96 Weeks Into My Fitness Journey

It's crazy to think I'm almost 100 weeks into my fitness journey.

It has 100% become my lifestyle and I really can't imagine what life was like before this. Did I just sit around?

I mean, I feel very lazy if I don't get a work out in. To the point that I struggle on "rest days" - I KNOW I need to let my body rest and recover, but I struggle with feeling lazy. I sit at a desk all day for work so it's not like I'm up and moving throughout the day (unless you count going up and down the stairs for snacks).

I am getting more motivated as the weather turns (70 today!) and daylight extends.

I really want to get back to early morning workouts because I just love how that made me feel - starting out the day already feeling accomplished is a GREAT feeling.

I do think we may have had the last of the snow.

I think.

She's 10.

We celebrated Mila in a big way over Easter weekend.

The countdown was on - the girls had been off of school the entire week already. They were getting antsy to say the least!

My mom was very helpful in the fact that the girls slept there Wednesday night and Thursday night, allowing me to finish up my work week (ending Thursday) and prep for our trip. It worked out because Steve wanted to work a half day - so he could pick the girls up from my mom's and head home before we all got on the road.

Let's go!

It was a relatively uneventful 2-hour drive. It was quite scenic, too, as we drove along Cayuga Lake.

I remind myself how lucky I am to live in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region. People travel from all over to come to this area to check out our wine country.

Anyway, driving up to the lodge was pretty cool. The lodge itself is huge and beautiful.

The views were gorgeous.

We also realized during this trip that it was Ava's first time ever in a hotel. A real hotel.

Our previous trips have been to friend's houses, my parents' houses, or AirBnbs.

We got there right around 4pm which was check in time. They told us that the pool and waterpark was open until 9pm (an hour later than we thought) so we decided to get changed quickly and head down.

It was great having everything right in the hotel.

We made sure Baby Girl got balloons for her birthday - even if we weren't home!

I wanted to check out the Hot Tub first.

Classic Ava.

lol

First White Claw

We were shocked that the prices really weren't too bad. Definitely NOT restaurant prices.

Slides on repeat!

This was the first year that we felt comfortable letting the girls just go and have fun without us literally watching over them.

The waterpark is on the second floor of the hotel and is not huge. It's enclosed and only those with wristbands are allowed in.

Then, right outside of the waterpark is the arcade. So everything is like RIGHT THERE.

Anyway, Steve and I allowed ourselves to enjoy adult beverages in the hot tub while the girls ran around the entire place, doing all the things.

It. Was. Awesome.

Mila was even kind enough to run back to the hot tub to let us know if they were going from slides to wave pool, etc. even though she really didn't have to. We easily could've seen then if we did a loop (which we had to do anyway to get more drinks!)

Another favorite.

These kids could swim for HOURS

So grateful this tiny kid can swim so well. I know there were adults looking at her and then looking around like...."Is this kid allowed to swim alone?" lol. She's so small. But she's mighty, this one. She learned how to swim 2 summers ago and passed the YMCA deep end test. She's good.

LOVING the outdoor portion of the hot tub.

"Mom, I'm just a head"

The pool - it was heated, but definitely not warm enough for me. The air was like 45 degrees and the pool was like 85 or something?

Nice spot to warm up

This fireplace...

After some swimming, we decided to head up to our room and warm up and eat some dinner. We opted for some take out.

There's a restaurant on the property, but at another lodge that had good take out. Steve and I drove over there (2 minute drive vs. 9 minute walk) and left the girls to watch Turning Red.

Delicious food! We all got burgers, except for Steve, who got chili and fries.

Living their best life.

These hallways. Who wouldn't want to run down these?

She was DETERMINED to get a squishy.

She had to have spent like $8 trying to get the damn thing.

Giving it a shot - it's rigged of course.

This was a fun one

Spraying water at the Zombies

Ava vs. Daddy

My personal favorite

Who doesn't love arcade games before bed?

Anyway, Saturday was Mila's actual birthday, so before the girls woke

We let them also open their Easter Baskets when Mila opened her birthday gifts.

One of my favorite games growing up. And the girls and Steve love it!!

Little Ava opening something from her basket

We read the first two collections together!

Happy girls!

Day two of the waterpark: they got me on the waterslides. I don't LOVE waterslides. Let's just say that.

My Bubba

"Take my picture"

11am lol.

Food and drinks were not as expensive as we thought it'd be. We got 3 hotdogs, a cheeseburger, two adult beverages, two kids drinks and a side of fries for like $30. That seems reasonable, right?

Steve and I were genuinely surprised that it wasn't THAT busy when we were there. I mean, don't get me wrong, there were plenty of people.

At one point, there were too many people in the hot tub (according to us) so we made a loop before going in. But it was maybe 5-10 minutes of "waiting" before we felt like there was enough room for us to not be on top of people.

They loved the waterpark. We spent 3 solid hours there Saturday morning. From open until about 1pm.

We then went to relax and warm up in our room for a bit before coming back down for more water time before our 6pm dinner reservation.

Our room's fireplace

These water slides opened Saturday (they were not open when we were there Friday) and these kids literally went down on repeat over and over again. This is when me and Steve headed to the hot tub with our drinks.

Mila's birthday dinner!

I got the Waygu meatloaf and it was pretty freaking delicious.

Ava had been struggling with allergies the last few days. Poor kiddo.

Ava ended up getting a little bit of a belly ache after she ate (too much maybe?) and wanted to head up to our room to lay down. That was a little disappointing because we were all really enjoying ourselves, but I excused us and went up and had her lay down for a bit.

When Steve and Mila got back, she perked up and wanted to play some games with us.

We had a fun family game night and then let the girls watch tablets and stuff until bed.

We all had so much fun on this little two night getaway and I'm so, so grateful that we can make these memories with our kids.

Jammies on and ready to head home!

And it snowed. Like it was SNOWING on our way home. And it was 32 degrees out.

We had the best time celebrating our girl.

DOUBLE DIGITS people.

What the fuck. LOL.

Love her.
