Steve had taken the girls to his parents to celebrate Papa's birthday. I stayed behind to finish up errands that hadn't gotten done yet. Wegman's grocery shopping, a million loads of laundry. Cleaned the house. Got ready for the week. Thought about what to make for dinner.
Mila's game was canceled last week due to heavy rains days prior, and the field was soaked. The day ended up being a gorgeous fall day. Sun shining. Decent temps.
I emailed the coach asking if the game was still on...since I hadn't heard anything. He said it was.
I was texting with Steve back and forth wondering and I told him it was still on.
Then it started to like, REALLY DOWNPOUR. Like. Um. No. I told Steve to meet me back at home instead of the field.
So I emailed Coach again.
He said that it was still on and that the radar showed it passing by quickly.
Ok, then!
And it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. I met them there and Mila changed in the truck.
I'm so proud of my girl and her efforts. She had a couple of great kicks to get it up the field.
We tied with the Orange team 3-3.
This put us overall at 4-0-2. We had an undefeated season!
