We submitted our offer Friday.
Got a counter offer Saturday.
Accepted it Sunday.
Inspection is getting done Thursday.
We're going to the bank Wednesday.
Mom listed her house today.
For double of what she paid for it 7 years ago.
HOLY FUCK.
She will use the funds to renovate the house for her future needs.
The house is in great shape (we'll find out more at the inspection, obviously).
But the bathroom is original and will need to be enlarged.
Mom wants to convert one of the 4 bedrooms into a bathroom add on, with the original.
Steve and I have to get quotes for that type of project.
The other things I'm hoping Steve can do.
The main bathroom on the main floor is a full bathroom. It's not terrible by any means, but could use a coat of paint, new shower doors and I'd like to get a new vanity for storage purposes. The pedestal sink they have now is pretty, but not practical. There's not a lot of storage in this bathroom. So we'll need to fix that.
The floor in the family room is gross carpet, so we'll replace those with new hardwoods. That's the only room in the house with carpet...not sure why.
Then a new coat of paint and painting the fireplace will really freshen the place up!
I think once mom moves in, it'll be gorgeous.
I'm so excited!
I spent the day Sunday dealing with our horrible real estate agent/broker. She's such a bitch. Longer story on her to come later.
I spent a great deal of time texting my mom and sister throughout the day.
We finally got our Christmas tree!
It was closet to 5pm, freeeeeeezing. Freezing rain was coming down and our area was prepping for a storm.
We decide it's time to go tree hunting! LOL.
We knew where to go, and we made it fast.
The only pic I got! Ha!
And it's only fitting.
It snowed Sunday night into Monday. Woke up to this. Girls' school was on a 2 hour delay, so it totally screwed up my Monday morning!
Only 3 weeks to go until I have 2 weeks off for the Christmas holiday. We got the confirmation email today that my office will be closing the week of Christmas (HALLE-FUCKING-LUJAH). Because I'm gaining back 3 days of PTO, I decided to tack on 2 days at the end, and instead of going back to work on January 2 and sending the girls to daycare, I'm taking the 2 and 3 off and going back to work on Monday, Jan. 6. The same day the girls go back to school.
I'll be off for 16 days. (Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely be working from home during this timeframe at some point, but I will NOT be putting real clothes on).
I cannot wait.
