I'm SO Bougy.

Bougy:

Of or pertaining to someone who is not only pretentious but believes themselves to be financially and physically superior.

LOL.

No but really.

I'm not what you'd call a bougy person.

I'm not that high maintenance.

Steve's the diva in this relationship and if you know us IRL,  you'll know that.

But.

BUT.

I interviewed a house cleaner today.

What the actual fuck.

I guess I never actually thought myself as someone who would hire a house cleaner.

Interestingly enough, a former client of mine recently started her own company targeted at working moms. It's basically a "house-manager for hire" deal. She charges an hourly rate and is a contracted consultant to help people.

Like a personal assistant, but not as bougy.

ANYWAY.

As a working mom of two, who works outside of the home 5 days a week...

There are things around my house that just don't get done.

There are certain chores I enjoy.

My farm work. I actually enjoy that.

My garden. Love it.

Cleaning out my car in the spring - love it.

Other chores? Like household chores?

I'd rather not.

Like cleaning baseboards.

And behind the toilets.

The girls' bathroom.

Their sinks that have toothpaste caked on them.

Steve isn't exactly for this type of service.

He's not really into paying people to do something we're fully capable of doing ourselves.

However.

Neither one of us wants to do those chores.

We don't do those chores (often enough).

So it gets gross.

We're finally in a financial situation where it's a possibility to have someone come into our home once every couple of weeks to clean and tidy up.

To help me out when I'm slacking.

I see the value in it.

I will appreciate walking into a clean house after working a looooonnnng day or week.

So, I interviewed a house cleaner today.

I think I'm going to start with one whole house deep clean once Spring hits and we do our "spring cleaning."

Then from there, a biweekly visit that will include:
- Master bathroom cleaning - wiping down counters, sinks, mirrors. Sweeping/mopping floors and cleaning the toilet.
- Girls bathroom - same as our bathroom
- Kitchen - wiping down of all countertops, sweeping, mopping, and putting things away that were left out (clutter, mail, etc.)
- Living room - sweep and mop the floors, wipe down credenzas

I'm SO excited.
