Happy Halloween!

Nothing is normal this year, obviously, including how we celebrate Halloween.

We normally go Trick or Treating, like most people.

Since we live way out in the middle of nowhere, we'd always have to drive somewhere, park and do it that way.

We'd stop at Steve's parents house of course and hit up their neighbors on their street.

Then when our friend bought a house in a great neighborhood for this type of shit, we'd meet up with friends there and do the whole neighborhood. We did that for a few years until the kids were in school. It became too far of a commute (50 minutes) to get there and by the time we got home, it'd be well after 9pm.

So then we hit up a SWEET neighborhood that we never knew about, right in our town. There is one particular street that goes NUTS. Homeowners are parked out front of their homes, dressed up, houses decorated, scary things popping out at you, etc. It was awesome. The kids freaking LOVED it.

Then there's this year. Fucking Covid.

But, silver lining people.

Since we have a few families we feel comfortable with (who we went on vacation with in July) we opted to do a Halloween party instead.

I had a lot of grand ideas on games and prizes and shit to keep the kids entertained...and then, well, life just took a hue shit on me and all those great Pinterest ideas when out the window.

However, I realized that we don't need all that fancy shit to have a good time. We had NO games, NO prizes, and the kids ALL said they had "the best time ever and it was better than Trick O' Treating!" so WIN!!

We had a ton of candy, obviously, pizza, wings, drinks, snacks, all the goodies. Kids were dressed up and had a great time running around. The weather couldn't have been better. 50 degrees and sunny, people.

My lovely friend with her 4 boys.

My BF, Frank.

Meanwhile...all the kids were outside playing and Mila was in here, eating snacks. 😂 Truly my child.

LOL Twin fight!

My Bubba. Having an allergy day today though.

Our crew, minus a couple.

Tried to have some fun stuff for the kids...

I was a little nervous about the party - I hadn't put the time and effort into it like I had planned. We all planned this little get together prior to knowing Steve needed surgery. So I was all like HELL YEAH! And then I was like shit....I barely have time to feed myself and my children. But, with good friends, you can accomplish anything.

LOL my two girlfriends. Guess who they are. I was actually friends with their husbands before ever knowing them. Joe Exotic's husband is a guy I've known since 3rd grade. I've known Carol Baskin's husband since he was 19. So we go waaaay back. These are my people.
