Vacation Day 1 - Getting There

Wednesday was a mad rush to get all things done before leaving Thursday morning.

Our time of departure was 9:30am.

I also had to work all day Wednesday and had a couple of later afternoon client meetings.

Steve's sister and her family also spent the day at our house so it was a busy one!

Wrapping up my workday Wednesday while simultaneously making t-shirts for all the kids.
I made 8 in total.

I think they came out super cute! They were my very first shirts, like ever, so I have LOTS of room for improvement, lol. It's not as easy as it appears.

Packing up the truck like Tetris. Our Expedition's suspension was acting up, so we opted to take my truck instead. Our friend asked us to tow his Jet Ski since he didn't want to bring his pickup truck.

We strapped our Lily Pad to the Jet Ski and off we went!

So my friend, Rich is a bit....high strung. We are actually the exact same person lol. I think that's why he and Steve get along so well. ANYWAY. He likes what he likes and when it comes to stuff like getting to a destination, he wants to be like, READY. The funny thing is that he called me to tell me he forgot his sunglasses in his dump truck. And asked us to go get them from his driver. Only his driver had to leave the thruway stop, so I had to randomly pull over and run behind a bunch of construction cones (it felt incredibly illegal) to grab the sunglasses. If this was anyone else...I'm not sure he'd have the patience for it. He's lucky we live by that thruway stop so it wasn't completely out of the way.

Watching these huge ships go by is one of my favorite things to do.

Girls exploring the grounds

There was a fun gazebo, but the stairs were deadly.

Thursday's weather was just ok. It wasn't that warm, but it wasn't rainy.

We went grocery shopping at the nearby Price Chopper and had to push two grocery carts full of food through a huge campground to get to the public dock.

AND THEN WE JUST LEFT OUR CARTS THERE.

I almost died.

The day ended up pretty nice in terms of weather. When we got back from the grocery store, the kids had all changed into swim suits and were playing on the dock and in the water.

Tomorrow, (Friday) was forecasted to be shitty, shitty, rainy, cold weather. NOT something we were looking forward to at all! But, we can't change Mother Nature.
