As I mentioned before, we cleaned the boat up pretty nicely. Like, Steve and I were both impressed with how nicely it turned out. After I vacuumed the carpet...it really felt nice!
Sunday was forecasted to be just...ok.
Low 70's and partly sunny.
We were still pumped to get the boat in the water for our very first outing.
Steve said it was easier to drive with this than the Jet Ski because he couldn't see the Jet Ski at all. |
I was nervous and excited.
We got to the boat launch and as I expected, it was quite busy.
What's frustrating, is that there is no direction when you get there. People kind of form a line. No one is directing traffic and the only attendant there is for invasive species, not parking or launching.
People take forever to either get their boat in or out.
We were waiting in line for over 20 minutes before launching.
And because it's our first time, we're already a little nervous.
We're watching people fail left and right.
There were also State Troopers there, chatting with some folks. The people who launched right before us were at the dock showing their paperwork and stuff. Which again, made me nervous (WHY??? WE ARE LEGIT). But then when it was our turn to push off, the Trooper told me to hop in and he'd throw the rope to me. Ok...never asked for our paperwork.
Anyway.
Luck was on our side and we launched our boat with no issue. (YAY BABE! We didn't have to be embarrassed launching our boat for the first time 😂 ) No problems backing the trailer in or getting the boat in the water.
He was definitely dressed more appropriately this time. No work boots. lol. |
The happiest of times. They LOVED it. |
No better view than this one. |
Getting my sun on. Our cooler is way too big for this boat, so we'll need to downsize. |

This was so fun. Steve read the owner's manual front to back while us girls enjoyed some snacks. |
The air temperature wasn't all that hot - 73? I think? But the water was freaking warm! |
Again, #bestinvestmentever |

Honestly you guys. I'm so grateful. I was SO happy being on the water. The girls loved it.
I'm very much looking forward to many more sunny days on the boat.
We launched at the south end of the lake (we are actually located just about mid-way between the south and north boat launches, about 10-12 minutes in each direction) and headed north, towards the park/beach we frequent. We wanted to show the girls what it looked like from THIS side. We always used to stand at the edge and wave at all the boaters and now we get to be them!
We threw our anchor and hung out for a bit. Steve read through the owner's manual while I ate snacks and the girls played.
Our lake is about 16 miles long and takes maybe 15 minutes? to get from one end to the other.
We stayed up at the north end for a bit and then headed back.
It was SUCH a nice afternoon and I absolutely cannot wait to do it again.
