Seedlings Update

Some of my cucumbers sprouted! I'm getting really excited for these plants! I have maybe 4 weeks or so before I want to move the first batch outside. We haven't gotten the garden area set up yet...I would have liked to have at least gotten the posts up, but the weather, man! This is so annoying! It snowed today. April 11. It was also quite cold out - 31 degrees. So the ground is still frozen and it's generally just gross out. I have no motivation to get out there in this weather.

But, the basement and my grow station are doing great.

Ruple Farms - broccoli
Broccoli is doing ok - progress is slow

Ruple Farms - zucchini
Zucchini/yellow squash doing great!

Ruple Farms - watermelon
Watermelon!

Ruple Farms - pumpkins
Pumpkins! I had to remove a bunch of leaves that had mildew on them, but am excited to see new growth so quickly!

My tomato plants should be ready to move to pots soon. My eggplant and rosemary haven't sprouted yet, so I'm thinking those are done.

I'm excited about the cucumbers! I have 2 additional little sprouts of Bell Pepper, so now there are 3 plants.

I'm hoping to mark the location this weekend so we can get moving on it. The weather has not been able to make up its mind and while today could get up to 70 (!!!) yesterday it was 31 and SNOWING.

Welcome to Rochester, folks!
