So that's 3 additional days off that we normally wouldn't get.
Last year they closed between Christmas and New Year's.
We were told not to expect it again.
I never, ever expect it.
In all my 15 years of working full time, I've never had it off as a "thing" - if I got it off, it was a surprise.
And it has only happened twice in my life.
This year, we are getting the entire week of Christmas off.
So, not as much time off as last year, but I don't mind one bit. ANYTHING is a bonus. They totally don't have to give it to us.
So I super-duper appreciate it.
This is allowing me to use those PTO days I gained back, to take off 2 additional days.
So, I will be off for 16 days.
The ENTIRE time my kids are off of school.
We are off as of 12/21.
We go back 1/6.
And I'm only taking 4 days of PTO.
I had SUCH a nice, relaxing time during the Thanksgiving holiday, I can't imagine what two weeks feels like!
My dad sent some Christmas money to the girls, so I bought a ten-pack to the local indoor-play-space so that we could take advantage of the time off.
We are also going to see The Lion King! My ex-work-husband has season tickets and gets early bird access to other shows that are not included in his season pass.
As I mentioned before, I've been DYING to see this on stage since it came out in the late 1990's (1997 to be exact).
It was a HIT when I went off to College.
I just never got the chance to go.
I cannot wait to take the girls!
We'll see if they can stay up for it, but I love getting the girls to the theatre so they can appreciate the theatre.
I'll be sure to document each day of our break and blog about it! I'm going to make sure I block out time for me to document things, but also time to put the phone/laptop/screens away to appreciate the time with my family.
I just need to get through the next 8 days of work.
