Responsibility

Ruple Farms - Mila Sue

Mila is 9.5 years old.

Almost 10.

Almost double digits.

And man, is she giving me a run for my money.

Not for what you might think - attitude. Nope.

She's the sweetest kid.

So kind.

Yes, snarky here and there, but that's expected, natural even.

But you know what really gets to me?

How fucking irresponsible she is.

Oh MY FUCKING GOD YOU GUYS.

I could choke her.

She loses literally everything.

Her lunchbox.

LUNCHBOX?

Today was "Farmer's Market Day" at school and her teacher requested that her class wear the new 4th Grade T-shirts they just got.

Mila knew this.

Since last week.

She was just showing it off to Ava the other day.

But today? The day she actually needs it?

Can't find it.

Listen. It's not about the damn shirt. Obviously, she can wear another shirt.

But for me, I think about how her teacher will think about how unprepared Mila is.

All the damn time.

So I talked to her about that.

"It's about being responsible for your own stuff and being able to do things on your own without Mom or Dad barking at you all the time. It's showing us (mom and dad) and your teacher that you're able to manage your own stuff"

Ugh.

I don't want to blame anyone for this other than her, because she needs to get her shit together.

But, this trait is 100000000% Steve.

Steve loses everythinnnnggggg.

Alllll the time.

His truck keys? With a bunch of other keys on it?

Been missing for like 2 years now.

I don't know how it doesn't bother him to death.

I would DIE if I lost my keys for like an hour. I'd rip the house apart trying to find them.

So, two peas in a pod.

And I might just lose my mind.
