68 weeks you guys!!
I'm so incredibly shocked and proud that I've continued to manage this lifestyle.
After more than a year of working out 5+ days per week, it truly has become my lifestyle. I cannot imagine NOT working out now and it's super crazy to me to think how much someone can change in one short year.
I mean, a year is long and short at the same time.
You can accomplish a LOT in a year.
In the grand scheme of things, a year isn't all that much time.
I've managed to transform my entire way of living.
I eat so much healthier now.
I'm SO much stronger than I was before I started on my journey.
I follow a lot of bodybuilders online. Either Bikini Pros or Wellness Pros. Some other categories as well, but those two are what I'm interested in the most. And these women have been training for YEARS. Like all the ones I follow have been doing it for at least 5+ years and the before and after pics are incredible.
I am excited to continue on this journey to see what the next year will bring. I want to maintain my focus and continue to treat my body well.
We are going strong heading through week 65.

Feeling strong! And my hair is in a french braid, so that's why it looks wonky. lol. |
As I head into week 66, I have given myself a new goal.
PISTOL Squats.
Yes.
That's right.
A one-legged squat, while simultaneously holding my other leg straight out, foot flexed.
I need to set goals for myself, or I'll start to drift. In terms of what I want to do.
I'm proud of what I've been able to do so far. But I have so far to go.
I want to use this offseason to try to build some muscle, but I struggle with nutrition and eating enough.
Eating 100grams of protein is such a struggle. I have to get back on my protein shakes, I just hate the kind I have now so I've been skipping it. Which is not good. So I will get back on that train ASAP.
Up until now, I've only been doing lower body/legs/glutes once a week at most. Like, I'm sure there have been plenty of times that I didn't do legs for more than 10 days.
Because...well...leg day sucks!
There are so many muscles in the legs and they are so big to support our bodies and when I train them...omg. DOMS are for real and walking becomes a legit issue.
Yes, it's a "good pain" but Jesus fuck.
But I need to focus and try to do legs/glutes at least once a week if not twice a week. And I have to LIFT HEAVY.
I also started incorporating yoga into my routine. I found that I like doing "Yoga Sculpt" or "Power/HIIT Yoga" from the same lady I watch on YouTube for weight lifting. It's high-intensity yoga paired with stretching and traditional yoga moves.
Since I try to work out at least 5 times a week, I struggle to find a good balance on which muscle groups to train when. So when I'm not sure what I want to train, I'll do some yoga and it's a great way to balance out my week. I'm finding that I'm doing yoga about once a week for now, while doing weight training 4-5 times a week.
Closing out week 68 and starting October has gotten me motivated!
I want to continue to rock my workouts and be consistent with moving my body each and every day.
I have to remember to be mindful of rest days, but I'm also finding that I'm loving the power yoga that I've incorporated into my routine.
I get to move my body but give my muscles a break from strength training. I really enjoy it. I like the "power" aspect of it as I get in a good sweat and it's by no means low intensity.
I'm going to try to incorporate at least 2 yoga workouts per week and maybe 3-4 days of weight training.
The fact that we're coming into Fall and Winter won't be good for my waistline. I love cooking and baking during the chilly season and as the holidays come closer. Ugh. Moderation. Everything in moderation.
I don't have any good recent workout pics or physique pics, so here's one from this morning (10/6/21) I thought it was cute because both me and Mila's hair is in ponytails and they are super long! |
