Birthday Trip Day 3 - My 40th Birthday! (Thursday)

We decided we'd try to hit up the hotel fitness lounge this morning.

Since I wasn't sure where we were going for this trip, I wasn't sure if I should bring any workout clothes.

I ended up bringing one sports bra and some workout leggings (which are different than my everyday leggings 😂) just in case.

I got up around 7:30 and then Steve around 8.

We hit up the gym and there was one other guest there. He left shortly after.

It was not a large space by any means, but it did the trick. Just enough space for 3 people.

Once the gentleman left, we could spread out a bit more (and take our masks off).

I didn't bring sneakers... but I didn't really need them.

Peloton! I didn't use it this morning, but I def. want to give it a try.

Did a little upper body today

Bundled up and ready to hit the city.

Ellen's Stardust Diner

Super fun and entertaining while you eat. Your servers are also entertainers who sing and dance while you eat! They've sent over 200 people to Broadway via donations to acting, singing, etc. classes.

Steve arguing with AmTrak because of our canceled return trip...

Delicious, once again!

Still arguing

What a gorgeous day to walk around the city

I thought this umbrella stand was adorable.

Steve spent about half the time while we were at breakfast arguing with AmTrak. Our train got canceled. So he had to get us rebooked on another train but this train didn’t have any rooms, etc. he was NOT happy and was pissed that the train people have screwed him twice now. The first time they canceled they could only get us on another train a whole day before. So he had to get another night at a swanky hotel last-minute.

ANYWAY.

After it was all said and done, he got us rebooked for an earlier time. Only no room this time - we could only get business class. Which. Whatever.

I would’ve much preferred the private room obviously but we’ll take what we can get. First world problems.

I tried to remind him to not let this ruin his day. We were having so much fun already and I didn't want him to be stressed about it. Worse-case-scenario: we rent a car and drive home. In a blizzard.

It was close to noon by the time we left breakfast. We wanted to walk around more and relax before dinner and our show tonight!

The highlight of this entire trip is this.

Hamilton on Broadway.

I’ve heard so many amazing things for 3 years now and even started watching it on Disney+.

Before the show, Steve had gotten us reservations at Gallagher's Steakhouse. We skipped lunch so we'd have room for dinner.

We got to get dressed up and everything.

I had a glass of wine. Can you tell? lol

We got the Tomahawk ribeye and it was worth every penny.

Steve's hand for size reference.

And they served us. Like, legit put the food on our plates. I've never been served before!

Ms. Jackie O.

We walked over to the theatre around 6:40 just in time for our 7pm show.

This was incredible. We had amazing seats and it was more amazing than I had imagined.

The show ended sometime after 9:30pm. We headed back to the hotel and called it a night. I was on cloud nine leaving the theatre!

Something about live entertainment just hits different.
