Back in the day when things were different we had wanted to bring Mila to NYC to the American Girl Doll store for that experience.
That's not going to happen this year for various reasons, but it's still a great idea. I hope to bring the girls to NYC at some point soon.
We thought about an indoor water park, since we know it's likely to still be cold and gross in April. We'd have to commit to a couple-night stay for it, if we do it.
I don't have much time left to plan so I need to get on it!
We are also considering the aerial ropes course near our house. Mila's best friend did that for her birthday a couple of years back and they all really enjoyed it.
Lots of options, but I need to focus! Mila will be happy and surprised with anything we do, I'm sure.
After some discussion with Steve, we opted to give Mila the option of what to do, instead of surprising her. I mean, she's the kid who would be over the moon with almost anything we did, so it's not like we were at risk of her not liking the idea. But we knew she wanted a friend thing, too.
So we showed her the waterpark and asked if she'd like to do that - with us only. Just family. We had initially considered inviting her twin BFFs to come with...but we don't think their parents are ready for that quite yet. It's a couple of hours away and it'd be for TWO nights.
We did offer to let her have a sleep over with her friends when we got back.
She loved the idea!
So we booked it! We're all very much looking forward to a constant 84 degree atmosphere!
We plan to get there Friday afternoon and utilizing their indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub. Then using our two-day passes for the water park Saturday and Sunday to get the most of out our money. Friday the waterpark doesn't open until 4pm. Saturday and Sunday it opens at 10am. We'll see how the weather is and everything. We might take a quick trip down to Watkins Glen if the weather is nice enough.
I can't believe we're celebrating her 10th birthday already.
Time sure is fleeting.
These aren't the best pictures, but it's all I could find online.
It's during "holiday" season since it's the general time kids have Spring Break. I asked how busy it could be during the time we're there and the person taking reservations said it'll be busy. But she did also said that it wouldn't be as busy as President's week, since that is the same week for everyone.
We are very excited!
I even paid for the "Birthday Package" so we could get balloons and a card in the room for when we arrive.
My baby is turning 10. Holy fuck.
