We had the BEST time.
The weather was perfect the entire time.
THE ENTIRE TIME, PEOPLE.
Let's back up and start on Thursday, the day we left.
Steve and I went to Chris Stapleton the night before, so we had been packed basically since Tuesday night.
The girls spent the night at my mom's house so we were able to get up and get everything packed without any issue.
I got my ass out of bed at 6:30, showered and started getting things ready.
Picked up the girls from Mom's house. |
Met up with our friends and we all headed to a diner for lunch. Good way to break up the almost 3 hours. It's about half-way to our destination. |
A little tail gate lunch! |
I made her sit up right after taking this pic, Karen. |
Got the boats launched! |
The boys took the boats to the condo and us ladies met them over there with the trucks. |
I just realized we're missing Charlie from this pic! |
So much fishing. |
JetSki rides! |
Nothing like having our boats right outside the door. |
We dropped off what we could and went for a boat ride. The weather was cloudy, but the sun started to peek out.
It was HOT and we were so ready to get on the boat!
Nothing like boating with castles all around you. |
We boated around for almost 2 hours and then headed back to the condo to settle in and figure out dinner.
It was our friend Emily's birthday, so we wanted to do something fun.
We were all kinda tired, so we opted to order in some food from a local steakhouse. (Interestingly enough, I have a friend who knows the owner of this restaurant).
We ordered the kids pizza (Ava had a ribeye, lol) and us adults enjoyed some good food.
Emily had a couple of friends in town as well, so we decided to head out to a bar for a drink or two.
My fave pic of the night! And this reminded us of college and getting ready with the girls. |

I don't know the two ladies on the left all that well. I've met them a few times. |
During this time, the kids were all bugging us to do something. The big boys let all the kids walk into town themselves. It's like a 5 minute walk from our condo.
The oldest is 13, then it's 11, 10, 9, 8, & three 7 year olds.
The moms were nervous, but we allowed it.
They walked down to get ice cream (the girls got Slushies).
Us moms were a few minutes behind them, so we saw them from afar. So cute. |
I love each and every one of these kids. 💜 |
After ensuring our kids were alive, we headed to the bar.
We didn't stay out too late - only two drinks and I was ready to go home. It was WAY past my bedtime.
Plus, I didn't want to be hungover, tired, groggy or gross the next day. I knew we were supposed to have amazing weather and I wanted to enjoy it.
And for some reason, I enjoy day drinking way more.
We called it an early night and went to bed.
This condo doesn't fit us all - I think I've mentioned that before. We made it work. Each set of adults got our own rooms, but that meant the kids all had to sleep together in the rec. room area (right outside the bedroom Steve and I got). There's a big couch out there plus the two air mattresses we brought.
Good night! Looking forward to a full day of fun in the sun.
