Steve has this guy he knows (everyone knows a guy, amiright?) - I'm not exactly sure how he knows him, but he helped Steve when he was building our deck. He was some sort of contractor or house builder or something who knew exactly how to build a very sturdy deck, built to the appropriate specifications, per our area. Or whatever.
ANYWAY.
He sees this guy from time to time - maybe he's a customer at work? A contractor for his company? Still not sure.
This guy tells Steve that he has this RV and he'd be more than willing to let Steve borrow it.
He mentioned it, then mentioned it AGAIN...so we took him up on it!
I've always wanted to "boondock" where you have no hookups and you kinda just wing it.
Like real camping lol.
But I have no idea what I'm doing when I'm researching this type of thing.
How do you know where you can do this?
I found the term "dispersed camping" which means you camp outside of a designated state park or something.
But any place listed online as a good "find" would surely be filled already, right? And since it's not a registered campground, there's no place to "sign up for a spot" if you will.
I got very confused and overwhelmed very quickly and abandoned that idea.
The problem is, is that I really don't want to "camp" with this borrowed RV in a giant parking lot with a bunch of "campers" who are like a cult.
That does not sound pleasant to me at all.
I stumbled upon this place up north.
It had amazing reviews.
Yes, it's a "campground" that will have other people....
But...
It's on a beach.
Like, a few steps away from a sandy beach.

The red arrow? My guesstimate on where our site is. |
We're only there for 2 nights, but we're so excited!
It's the week after we get back from Alex Bay. Lol.
We get to bring the dogs too! Well, we're only allowed to bring two of them. So I'm going to leave The Ween with someone. Or maybe Bella.
How does one choose???
The camper we're borrowing is an 18ft camper. That's all I know.
Let's hope it's not a complete disaster. 😂
